me and my husband file married filing jointly, we have a baby that was born june of 2007. i am a stay at home mom and had no income besides unemployment benefits which totals about 5,000. my husband made about 28,000 for the year. i know we will qualify for the child tax credit. i don%26#039;t know much when it comes to figuring taxes, i went to the irs site and tried, the amount, if i did it right, i don%26#039;t believe i did, said we would qualify and get back $430.00. I%26#039;m so confused because i had been told by someone else that we should get back around 2,000.00+? so which is right?
Do we qualify for the earned income tax credit???
If you are filing jointly and are claiming one child, the limit is $33,241 (for your earned income). So if your income is a little less than that, you are probably figuring your EIC correctly. The closer your income gets to that limit, the less EIC you will receive. See the instructions for Form 1040, the EIC table.

Do we qualify for the earned income tax credit???
Based on your income, your EIC will only come to about $350 because you and your husband made $33,000 this year.. you didn%26#039;t mention how many children you have or how much withholding your husband had in federal.. those details will determine your refund. Best Wishes.
Do we qualify for the earned income tax credit???
i don%26#039;t think you qualify but if you go to turbo tax you can put your info in to see about what you get back you only have to pay if you send it through them.
Do we qualify for the earned income tax credit???
if your total income is 28,000 no you won%26#039;t get income tax credit because its too much, However if you have a dependent, you should get money for the child. So you should get more then $430. Either take your tax stuff to H%26amp;R block or get turbo Tax and do it from them, but it does not look like your getting money for the child if its only $430.
