Does anyone know what the time frame is for receiving President Bush%26#039;s tax credit in the mail? And, how much will a family of 5 (married couple plus three children) receive?
Thank you!
When will we receive President Bush%26#039;s most recent tax credit? And, how much will it be?
HOW MUCH - The tax rebate is based on your 2007 earnings and Federal Income Tax liability.
If you file jointly, you would be eligible to receive a rebate of up to $1200 if you paid that much in Federal Income Tax. If you only paid $750 in taxes (less than the $1200 rebate limit), you only get back $750. If you had earned income of at least $3000, you would get at least the minimum rebate of $600 ($300 each). If you qualify for a rebate, you will receive $300 for each dependent child under 17.
Use the Kiplinger rebate tax calculator (link below) to compute your rebate.
WHEN - Three things will happen:
First, the Internal Revenue Service has started to send out letters reminding taxpayers to file a 2007 tax return in order to receive a 2008 economic stimulus payment. The mailings by the IRS began the first week in March and will continue throughout the month. The informational notice, titled Economic Stimulus Payment Notice, alerts people that they may be eligible for a one-time stimulus payment of up to $600 ($1,200 married filing jointly) starting in May.
Second, the IRS will send a second notice that will be more specific, informing the recipient how much to expect in the payment and when it should arrive.
Third, The IRS will begin sending taxpayers their payments in early May. Payments will continue over several weeks during the spring and summer. A payment schedule for taxpayers will be announced by the IRS in the near future.
Keep checking the IRS rebate website for updates to the rebate schedule.

The amount has been set at $600 per adult and $300 per child but they will also look into how much you made last year. This will be the deciding factor on how much you actually get back. It does not matter if you got a refund or how big it was. If you need more info you can always go to the IRS site irs.gov. The checks are supposed to go out in May. If I remember correctly if you made over 75000 last year you probably wont have anything coming to you.

the rebates will be mailed to your address on your return from this yr . if the address changed you can file a 8822 and change your address with irs. the rebates will start to be mailed off in may, and according to your ss# starting with 0.
you have to have made more then 3,000 and file a tax return.
if you are married then you will have a min of 600 and 1200 if you have a taxable liability. if you have ataxable liability, then your rebate will be either your liability or 1200 which ever is less. if you dont reach the min rebate, then there will be a credit on next yrs taxes for the difference.
as for your kids, you will receive 300 for each child 16 and under, but only if you have a taxable liability
